Five more photos.

hey folks, here are five more photos that i have taken. these aren't from any project from the web design class, however they are a requirement of project 3, the blog project. these are actually from my digital photography class. our class shoots in colour, then converts everything to black and white, but i decided to keep the colour for this post. some of these i used in my photo class project, others i did not. either way, enjoy.

Check out the video i edited...

hey, here's the video i was supposed to post. the third project said so. this is a video i edited a few years ago when i was just getting acquainted with apple's final cut express. it is the second video i've ever edited, and i had a terrible still camera to shoot with, so expect bad quality. if you focus on the editing, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

just in case you're wondering, this is a video from senior ditch day my senior year of high school. and yes, those five people (including me) were my entire senior class. i was filming, so i only appear in the video once when a friend of mine was holding the camera. anyways, enough explanation... enjoy.

Design Class Project 3.

hola amigos.
this, my fourth blog, will be focusing on our third class project, the blog you are currently reading. this blog, in case you haven't noticed, is all about my class, "graphic design concepts for the web." so, since they're getting popular these days, our teacher had us build a blog using google's blogger service. we had to blog about our past projects, which is why i have done so, and a few other things. let me give you a checklist:
  • choose a design
  • edit the profile and add a profile photo
  • write five posts including: class info, photos from project 1, a synopsis of project 2, a synopsis of the goals of project 3, and a video (which i have yet to post.)
  • other stuff to consider: privacy, custom layout, follow other blogs, links, fonts and colours, archives, mobile blogging, gadgets.
so, look around. check up on me. see if i've done all the things on that list. have fun. enjoy. seriously. go. do it. now.

Design Class Project 2.

yo peeps.
this time i want to talk to you about my second project in my design concepts for the web class. our project in a nutshell was this: use adobe bridge to create three different web galleries of the five photos from project 1.

there were several different types of web galleries to choose from in adobe bridge, but we only had to choose three. if you are interested, i chose to do, "slideshow," "standard," and, "html gallery."

i cannot show them to you yet, as we are not in any sort of publishing stage yet. the only thing we have published thus far is the blog you are reading. other than that, we have only, as of yet, learned how to create things in such a way that it will be easy to publish them once we get to that stage.

so at the very least, i hope you enjoyed those photos from last time, as the web galleries are just neat, organized ways to display said photographs. look for more info about other projects coming up soon.

Design Class Project 1.

greetings gentledudes and gentlechicks.
this blog will be focusing on my first project from the web design class i mentioned in the last blog. our project was to grab five scanned/old family photos and retouch them in photoshop. we could basically use any tools we wanted in order to clean the photos up and make them presentable for the web. i was not able to scan five, so i used three scans and two digital, however i converted all of them to black and white so as to not let either of the digitals stand out like sore thumbs.

we also had to save the photos in various file formats. we had one folder for the photoshop/uncompressed images, one for png's, and one folder called "optimized" which was for the html and images together. the ones i will post here will be those optimized photos. all five of them are below. enjoy.

this blog is a class project for my
"graphic design concepts for the web" class,

the topics and goals learned/achieved in that class.
it will also be focusing on our class projects.

our first project was to retouch five
old/scanned family photos in photoshop.
our second was to create a web gallery
of the five photos from project 1.
and the third project was this blog.

i will be posting individual blog entries
talking in detail about each one.
